What We Believe

God – We believe God who is eternal created the entire universe.

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. ” Genesis 1:1

Jesus – We affirm that the foundation for the Christian faith is to confess, “Jesus is Lord.”

“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

Holy Spirit – We trust the Holy Spirit to be our teacher and guide, empowering us with gifts for ministry, comforting us in times of trial, and shaping us to be like Jesus.

“But when the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth.” John 16:13

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10

Grace – God’s loves sets us free to engage life fully.

“God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us… Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Romans 5:8; 8:1

Bible – God’s love and will are revealed to us in the Bible as our guide for life.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Prayer – We will integrate prayer into all aspects of our church life and programs.

“Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.” Ephesians 6:18, Cf. Colossians 1:9-10

Community – We are called to reach out and be servants to our neighbors.

“Be wise in the way you act with people who are not believers; making the most of every opportunity.” Colossians 4:5 NCV

We will do this by being generous with the resources of money, time and service to others with compassion.

“If the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have.” 2 Corinthians 8:12

“And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8
